My name is Lucky Orphan Cody. I was born in 1996. I am a Morgan cross mare. I came to Lucky Orphan Horse Rescue in 2007 because my hooves were in horrible shape from being neglected for so long. The vet and farrier thought that I should have been euthanized because of how bad my feet were and because they didn't believe I'd ever be sound. Lucky Orphans believed in me and these wonderful people have helped to improve my hooves. I have developed a new trust in people and I am even sound enough to be ridden. Today I have learned to truly understand my rider. I am extremely gentle with beginners, but can provide for more of a challenge for the advanced riders! I can even be found taking children around for rides on the trails bareback!
