FOAR (www.foar.org) provides grants to individuals and small rescue groups so that they can continue to save as many animals as possible.

Founded in 2008, Friends of Animal Rescue (FOAR) is a registered 501(c)(3) charity headquartered in New York City with a chapter in North Carolina. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to animal rescue groups and individuals throughout New York State and North Carolina respectively. We provide payment directly to veterinarians, medical boarding facilities, animal transport, pet supply stores and other services to support specific animal rescue efforts.


When founder of Friends of Animal Rescue, Betsy Goldman, moved back to the city of her long ago childhood-Raleigh, NC-she realized "Hey-NY isn't the only state amongst the 50 where homeless pets are so in need. North Carolina needs help now!" Thus FOAR NC was formed-we are slowly but surely buidling, fundraising and saving lives. Please won't you join us?
