Scotland County Humane Society
The Scotland County Humane Society in Laurinburg, North Carolina is a non-profit organization which depends on donations to remain solvent. The care and well being of dogs and cats in our community is the main focus of the volunteers and staff.
We believe the only long term solution to the overpopulation of dogs and cats is for EVERYONE to spay and neuter their animals, without exception.
Found a stray? We depend on the City of Laurinburg and Scotland County for animal control, and do not provide those services ourselves. If you have found a dog, have a stray in your neighborhood or would like to report a neglected or dog, please contact the animal control agency for your location.

We are the only shelter in Scotland County, and we are "open admission", which means we must take in all animals collected and impounded by City Police and County Animal Control, owner surrenders and strays brought in by the public. We work very hard to adopt out as many as possible, but the high intake in our county makes it extremely difficult. We participate in PetSmart adoption events at least 2 times a month, regularly work with rescue groups up and down the East Coast and adopt both locally and regionally.
