The PEIHS is a not-for-profit organization that operates the Island’s only Shelter for lost, abandoned, and homeless companion animals.

Our Mission

The PEI Humane Society will provide programs and services to the community which assist in:

• humanely housing and caring for companion animals
• protecting companion animals from abuse and neglect
• protecting and promoting public health and safety; and
• educating the community about responsible pet ownership


Our mission is to promote quality of life for companion animals through: responsible ownership, successful adoptions, education and enforcement of companion animal welfare legislation in Prince Edward Island.

We have dogs, cats, rabbits and other tiny paws for adoption!
