MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of The Animal Rescue Krew, Inc. to provide a nurturing,clean and homelike shelter to any dogs in need of rescue and/or protection from danger. The A.R.K., Inc. makes part of its mission the education of potential adopters regarding commitment and responsibility involved before deciding to adopt.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the Corporation shall be to receive and care for abused,neglected, stray, or unwanted dogs, including those needing rescue from other shelters that may be full or high kill. The entity will not refuse cats, but will focus primarily on dogs. To carry out its purpose the Corporation shall:A.Provide a clean, safe residence for animals received and provide food, water, and veterinary care.B.Work in conjunction with other shelters that are overpopulated or that euthanize adoptable, healthy animals inhumanely.C.Collaborate with local veterinarians to obtain healthcare for rescued animals and eliminate the risk of disease.D.Accept donations, seek and earn grants, solicit and raise money for the foregoing purposes.E.Collaborate with local businesses to receive donated items, such as food and hygiene items, as well as entertainment/toys and bedding for the animals.F.Educate clients regarding behavioral needs and training required to be a responsible pet owner, and provide resources for such. We will educate the public about animal abuse prevention and the importance of spay and neuter via brochures and public fund raising events.G.Educate clients and the public about various breed and prejudices against certain breeds. Training of behavioral animals will occur prior to any adoption to determine whether a dog is adoptable or will remain at the shelter as a permanent resident.
