The Wayne County Humane Society uses social media to educate, inform, and connect with our local community and anyone interested in supporting our efforts. We welcome and encourage responsible participation and constructive discussions.

By posting, tagging, commenting, or taking part in discussions, you are agreeing to the following policy.

The Wayne County Humane Society reserves the right to remove any postings or comments that it believes inappropriate for whatever reason including any content we consider:

- Offensive or inappropriate in nature
- Misleading or irrelevant information
- Bullying, harassing, or discriminatory in nature
- Supporting individuals or organizations which promote or take part in animal cruelty
- Promotion of violent or illegal activities
- SPAM or commercial sales
- Content posted without permission or the express consent of the subjects
- Content posted in violation of copyright

Because the Wayne County Humane Society acts in partnership with law enforcement, we will not discuss the status of legal cases for the protection and privacy of those involved. Discussions pertaining to outstanding cases or the animals or people involved are not appropriate on our social media sites.

Violation of this policy by employees, volunteers, partners, board members or any in affiliation with WCHS may lead to revocation, suspension or termination of status.

You are responsible for what you write or present on social media. You can be sued by any individual that views your social media posts as defamatory, harassing, or libelous.
