The Highland County Humane Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit Organization. We promote the prevention of animal cruelty through humane education.

The Highland County Humane Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit Organization. We promote the prevention of animal cruelty through humane education of Ohio laws pertaining to animal cruelty. We operate a no-kill Animal Shelter for the abused, homeless and unwanted animals. We have been serving the Communities of Highland County since 1969.

Adoption Policy

All of our adoptable animals are pulled from local pounds, strays or owner surrenders.

Interested in adoption? Contact us at info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.org for an application to be emailed or mailed to you. Once we've received your application, it's reviewed for approval, once approved, a date and time is arranged to meet the pet. Currently all of our animals are in foster homes. We can meet you or arrange transportation for meeting the adoptable pet or for releasing the pet into your care. Adoption fees include pre-adoption spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and flea/tick treatment.
