From our inception in 1881, the Connecticut Humane Society has remained at the forefront of charitable service to the State of Connecticut, enriching the lives of the citizens and animals of our great state. With the powerful human-animal bond at the heart of our work, our organization continues to evolve and expand to serve the needs of our society and to plan for the future.

The Connecticut Humane Society operates full service shelters in Newington, Waterford and Westport, and a pet hospital for people in financial need, the Fox Memorial Clinic. Society services include: pet adoptions, pet surrender, dog training classes, humane education, services for senior citizens, and volunteer opportunities. Clinic services include: vaccination clinics, low cost spay/neuter services, preventative wellness care, special assistance program.
