The Blount County Humane Society is a Grass Roots, Volunteer Driven, Non Profit 501(c)3, "ANIMAL PROTECTION ORGANIZATION" in the truest and longest traditions of the movement. We believe that Animal Protection stands for the preservation of animal life, not the ending of it. "Shelter Killing is the #1 cause of death of healthy Dogs, Cats, Puppies and Kittens in America. The Blount County Humane Society believes that this practice is morally wrong. We are committed to making Blount County a No Kill Community by building a Safe All Access No Kill Shelter that respects animal life and stopping the killing of healthy, lovable, precious animals in our community. The BCHS has no affiliation with the Blount County Government or the Blount County Shelter.

We are located in Maryville Tennessee in the beautiful foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park but no matter where you live you can stand with us in our No Kill Quest by joining our Facebook Fan Page.
