The Humane Society of Kent County is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of pain and suffering in domestic animals and the promotion of satisfying and responsible relationships between people and domestic companion animals. We depend on the generosity of the community to fund our activities.

We are responsible for animal control in Kent County and while we are not county employees, we gratefully acknowledge the support of the Kent County Commissioners and the citizens of Kent County in funding this aspect of our operations.

Our Shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday-Saturday and is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. We offer pet adoptions, dog licensing, Animal Control services, private euthanasia, microchipping and education. Please visit our website, or just come in!
