West Greenwich Animal Control

West Greenwich Animal Control is a municipal department operating under the supervision of the West Greenwich Police Department.

If you would like to see the available pets for adoption please call 401-397-8999 for an appointment to come check them out. We have a small safe hold shelter that can house 2 dogs and 4 cats. The Town of West Greenwich has one part-time Animal Control Officer to handle the shelter/pound and also go on all complaints and calls. If you have an emergency on hours that are not listed please call the police dispatcher at 397-7191 and let them know it is an emergency and they will contact me. If you are having a wildlife issue please contact the RI DEM at 222-3070. It is illegal to trap and relocate wildlife due to the possibility of spreading rabies to a different area than where a wild animal is trapped.
