We are a NON profit small rural home based rescue that helps animals on and off the Yankton Sioux area reservations.

While we are a not for profit, we are not a 501(c)(3). Please consult your tax advisor for percentage you may deduct for donations to our organization. Tax percentages are as follows: 10% for an organization such as ours, 30% private foundation 501(c)(3), and 50% for a charitable 501(c)(3).

If someone is not able to get back to you as quickly as you think they should, please remember this:
Please keep in mind that all representatives of NHASR are volunteers who give their time, money, care and homes to make this possible. Being that they are all volunteers they also have regular jobs, homes to take care of, some have children to take care of, as well as all the animals here. We are people just like you and have lives like you as to where we can not be on the computer or phone 24/7. Though we try to get things done in a timely manner, sometimes it is not possible to get back to people as quick as they would like. So if we don't get back to you within 3-5 days then send us a friendly reminder and someone will look into it as quickly as possible.
Also remember the animals do come first and in order to do that, their needs must be taken care of. This may consist of taking care and cleaning their beds, play areas, stalls, pastures, even tree lines to take out trees that are in danger of damaging fences or even the animals. This is just the short list of things the volunteers do to insure the safety and well being of all the animals.

New Horizons Animal Shelter and Rescue is all about ALL animals that have been neglected and/or abused.
