Beyond Bars Animal Rescue
We are a foster based rescue located in West TN. We focus on rescue, rehoming and community outreach.
We will strive to improve the lives of companion animals in our community by the rescue/re-homing of homeless, neglected, or abused animals and by the education of community members in proper companion animal care and medical needs; and by the promotion of spay/neuter.
We are a small group of local residents with combined rescue experience of almost 20 yrs. We focus on abandoned, neglected, and abused animals in west Tennessee. Most come from high kill shelters in our area, but some are intercepted before they get to the shelter or have been seized due to cruelty. Our goal is quality over quality over quantity and every dog we adopt out has been fully vetted and temperament tested so that it can be placed in the best home available for that particular dog.
We intend to apply for our 501c3 status at the end of October and are currently registered with the State of Tn. Any and all donations of funds or supplies are greatly appreciated, but as of yet we are not tax deductible.
We do a considerable amount of childhood education and outreach in the community and feel it our job as rescuers to change the future of animal welfare by educating our communities in proper animal care and setting good examples with our own personal dogs.
We generally have between 20 and 40 dogs in our program at any given time, and each one has a perfect forever home out there waiting on it. We are an all breed rescue and are an equal opportunity rescue. We are foster based and and applicants are screened after filling out an application for adoption that we will be happy to email upon request.
Our local adoption fee is $175 and covers all vetting, micro-chipping, health certificate, etc. An adoption application must be completed by the potential adopter and the application must be approved by the board before any adoption will take place.
Our out-of-state adoption fee is $375 but covers transport to approved adopter.
If you are interested in one of our dogs please post directly on our wall or email us at beyondbarsanimalrescue@gmail.com.
We appreciate any and all support from our animal conscious friends and welcome any suggestions to make us more effective.
