Time 4 the Humane Society of Utah 2 Stop Lying

Exposing “The Humane Society of Utah” for their reckless disregard for the truth in their dealings with people and pets.

Inform the public about the cruel and unusual treatment of people by the staff when they visit the facility to surrender their animal. We also want to change the current policy which “restricts any release of any information on an animal to anyone once an animal has been surrendered” to instead allow those who surrender animals to the facility be allowed to have continued contact and be updated about the status of any progress made toward finding them a new home.

We want to bring awareness to the community and those who sponsor, pledge, or believe that this organization lives up to its promise of equal treatment of all animals and dedication to providing behavioral training so all animals surrendered get a second chance. We also want changes in policy and more transparency as to the treatment of people who choose to surrender an animal to them. We want to put a stop to the mistreatment and blatant disregard and verbal abuse of the people who have no other choice but to surrender their pet to what they believe is a facility that will do whatever they can to rehabilitate or retrain their beloved companion. The lack of compassion exhibited by the current staff and their refusal of donations of pet food, shot records, or documentation on the history of an animal is not consistent with their written policies made available to the public online. Their claim that they welcome information about the history of a surrendered animal implies that they will use that history to properly care, treat, and assess the animal “to ensure the very best outcome”. After witnessing first-hand the waste of vaccines on an already vaccinated animal and refusal to accept a donation of new collars, harnesses, leashes, and brand new unopened bags of dog food it is painfully obvious this organization has become lax in adhering to company policy. Due to this company’s misrepresentation and subsequent cover up following the facility’s killing of a dog after only 3 days it is evident that “The Humane Society of Utah” needs to re-examine staff adherence to company policies. Those who surrender animals to this facility should be allowed to have continued contact and be updated about the status of any progress made in finding them a new home. We, as a “humane society” have an obligation to recognize and expose companies that knowingly breach the public’s trust.
