Our Animal Control Division's mission is to protect the welfare of both domestic animals and wildlife as well as the safety of our citizens.

We are the City of Fairfax's Animal Control Division. Our animal control officers handle all animal related calls for service and investigations as well as managing our City of Fairfax Animal Shelter operations and animal adoptions. Our ACOs work out of the City of Fairfax Police Department located at 3730 Old Lee Hwy., Fairfax, VA 22030. The City of Fairfax is contracted with Town and Country Animal Hospital. located at 9836 Fairfax Blvd., Fairfax, VA 22030, to act as our animal shelter. While Town and Country provides excellent care for our City animals, adoptions are handled by Animal Control. Adoptable animals can be viewed any time during Town and Country's regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM and on Saturdays from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Adoption clinics are typically held at Pet Supplies Plus, located at 11054 Lee Hwy., Fairfax, VA 22030, every third Saturday of the month from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Actual adoptions are usually done by appointment. Town and Country can be reached at 703-273-2110.
