Community Cats Rescue Network

Community Cats Rescue Network is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

To improve the lives of feral and homeless cats in the Fredericksburg and surrounding counties, by humanely stopping their breeding through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is the only proven maintenance program to be effective, humane and long term in controlling feral and stray cat populations.

Under the TNR program, feral cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and returned to their original location for continued oversight by their caregivers. The left ear is “tipped” as a universal identifier the cat has been sterilized and vaccinated.

We strive to protect the welfare of these community cats by:

Collaborating with low cost spay/neuter clinics for affordable sterilization and vaccination of feral, stray, and pet cats.

Offering the use of traps (with refundable deposit) and proper instruction to residents wishing to spay and neuter community cats.

Providing hands-on trapping and transportation assistance for those not able to do it themselves, or when working with larger colonies.

Educating the general public about the plight of stray and feral cats and the importance of spaying/neutering and microchipping domestic pet cats.

Providing a voice and support for community cats and their caregivers by bringing awareness to the beneficial roles they play in our communities.
Promoting our belief that these cats deserve a place in our society, one in which their lives are respected and safeguarded.

Promoting support for long-term, caregiver-based solutions regarding community cats.

Networking extensively with reputable rescue groups to help foster and put up for adoption kittens and friendly adults taken from TNR colonies.
