Etowah Valley Humane Society

Where best friends meet...

DID YOU KNOW!?

EVHS is NOT the "pound". We also are NOT an intake facility. We are a Licensed Georgia Rescue, and Non Profit, that saves the lives of animals that find themselves abandoned, for whatever reason, at Bartow Animal Control. We save those that are in eminent danger of being euthanized. We work very closely with the wonderful employees of Bartow Animal Control and many other rescues to save each and every animal that we possibly can. Every animal that enters this facility is put under a mandatory seven day quarantine. Any animal under the age of 6 months is quarantined for four weeks. Every animal is vaccinated, microchipped, surgically altered, and adopted out. They are with us until we find them a home! Come visit us sometime and check out our website, www.etowahvalleyhumane.org, to find out more information about this amazing organization!

The Etowah Valley Humane Society (EVHS) began in 1994, as an adoption outlet for Bartow County Animal Control. In October of 2006, EVHS opened the doors of the new Shelter located at: 36 Ladds Mountain Road, in Cartersville, Georgia. EVHS is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Georgia. EVHS derives operating funds primarily from adoption fees, donations, membership fees, and fundraising events. Though EVHS has a paid staff, we rely heavily on the efforts of volunteers. The business and affairs of the Society are managed by a Board of Directors, the members of which serve without compensation.
