We rescue animals from the pound on Death row! They are then vet treated, placed into foster care and rehomed! Message replies 8am-6pm.

Burdekin Pet Rescue commenced in October 2015 as we saw a need in the Burdekin area to rehome animals dumped in our local council pound! These animals have been abandoned by their previous owners and left unwanted and unloved! They are in the pound for approx 3 days and if the Owners don't claim their pets by Close of Business on their exit date, or rehomed by a citizen,they are euthanised! Alot of these animals are the most loveliest, friendliest, affectionate animals you will ever find! People have let them down and we want to do something to help them. (Burdekin area incorporates Ayr, Home Hill, Brandon, Giru, Gumlu, Clare, Dalbeg, etc) Burdekin Pet Rescue saves these animals from the pound if no one claims them and they are out of options! After a vet check over and treatment, they are placed into Foster care around the Burdekin district. We then advertise them as being up for adoption and add them to our Animals up for Adoption albums for both cats and dogs. We offer discounted rates to adopt these animals and we fundraise to pay the vets the difference. All animals are adopted desexed, microchipped (per legislation), 1st vaccinated, flea, tick and worm treated. We are being pro-active in stopping back yard breeding which leads to abandoned animals.
