The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as a “Shelter of Hope” for the lost, abandoned, and homeless animals of Allegany County. We strive to expand and strengthen our leadership in animal care, humane education, and progressive animal welfare programs and to find common-sense solutions for animal-related problems in our community.

The Allegany County Animal Shelter is the only No-Kill municipal shelter in the state of Maryland and is run by the ACAS Management Foundation. We are a 501C3. Lost animals are held 4 days until their owner brings them back home. You will see pictures of all the adoptable cats and dogs, and be informed when they find their "forever homes".
