Our Mission
Is to facilitate an environment for the healing of animals from neglect, injury, cruelty, or from being unwanted or endangered and share the animals’ recovery with children and adults in education and wellness programs.

Our Vision
Is to free animals from neglect, abuse, cruel training methods, and endangerment and have all humans able to communicate with animals in politeness, kindness and understanding through sharing Friendship TrainingTM with the world so that every human and animal can live a more valued and valuable life; and to make the lives of tens of thousands of children and adults in need be more fulfilled, joyful and healthy by sharing the animals with them in friendship.

ENTERING YOUR PET
Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue presents a colorful, full-sized calendar celebrating our beloved pets. This photo fundraiser is a meaningful way to celebrate your pet while feeding, vetting, and caring for animals at Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue who are waiting for a home of their own. Here is how you and your pet can get involved:

Photo Submissions
Photos can be submitted on line at www.facebook.com/HHARCalendarPhotoContest or by mail by requesting the entry form by emailing hnhrescue@aol.com or by calling 760-898-3927. There is a $25 minimum donation per photo. All photos will become the property of Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue. You must be the rightful owner of the photo which, by submission, you testify that you are. Hearts & Hands Animal rescue will not be responsible for any photos that are submitted as being owned by the person submitting if they are in fact, not. All responsibility for taking ownership of the photo will be by the person submitting the photo. Please do not submit any photos that you do not have copyright ownership of.

All photos submitted, either electronically or by mail will become the property of Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue for the purposes of publishing them in the 2014 Calendar, and any and all uses deemed appropriate in calendar advertising or other publishing media related to any cause or fundraising by Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue, and in advertising the calendar and announcing the winners of the calendar photo contest, in any media, and in the advertising, promotion, and marketing of any subsequent calendar.

Eligible Photographs
• Acceptable formats are .jpg, .bmp, and .jpeg
• Photos sent by mail must be at least 4” x 6” and no larger than 8” x 12”
• Photos may contain one or more pets
• Photos must be in color, contain only pets (no people) and be in horizontal (landscape) format
• Any image that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by the Directors of Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue will be removed from the Photo Fundraiser
• Photographs may be cropped but may not be altered or edited (other than minor color, contrast or sharpness adjustments)

Put your name and your pet's name in the title of the photo so that people know who they are voting for and any information you would like to share in less than one hundred words.

Prior to posting your photo, please go to http://hhar.info/?page_id=26 to donate your tax deductible $25 submission fee per photo.

All completed and qualified entries received by October 15, 2013 are guaranteed to appear in the calendar as a thumbnail and your pet may be featured as one of the 12 “Pet Of The Month” winners. Our calendars will be shared with our supporters and offered for sale.

VOTING AND JUDGING

Voting

*Vote for your favorite photo posted on the photo contest facebook page at www.facebook.com/HHARCalendarPhotoContest by “liking” the photo.
*To increase your likes (votes) for a photo, you may “buy” votes by donating $1.00 per vote to Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue at www.hhar.info on the donate page. Please put the name of the Facebook contestant and the name of the pet in the comments. (Example: A $25.00 donation will get you 25 additional likes (votes) added at the end of the voting period for that photo) Yes! You can buy votesj, including the person who submitted the photo!

Judging

The Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue judging committee, taking into consideration the number of “likes” a photo has, will select the 12 winners for the Jan – Dec photos, and an additional two inset photos for each month. Whoever gets the most votes will be the overall winner and also appear on the cover. All contestants will have their photo submissions appear on the calendar.

PRIZES

The top twenty participants that achieve the most votes will receive the following:

1st Place – Ten person behind the scenes tour of Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue with zebras, a camel, miniature horse, mini donkeys, giant tortoise, zorses, zonkeys, horses, giant goats, and many other incredible animals. A wine tasting for four at Turtle Rock Ranch Winery in Ramona, t-shirt and a photo shoot with a zebra, OR, if you are a long distance contestant, you may choose two beautiful, framed prints of renowned artist, Lori Sutherland, and a $50 gift certificate to Bonnie's Nook online items, two framed photos of the animals in the Lori 'Sutherland prints you will receive and two t-shirts.

2nd Place - A print of one of the special animals at Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue by renowned artist Lori Sutherland. A wine tasting for two at Turtle Rock Ranch Winery or if you are long distance, a $25 gift certificate for any online items from Bonnie's Nook in lieu of the wine tasting, and a t-shirt.

3rd. Place – a $25 gift certificate from Bonnie’s Nook, (for Bonnie's Nook store or online items) a Greeting Card Print of one of the animals at Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue from Lori Sutherland, Artist, and a t-shirt.

*The seventeen additional top ranked winners will receive a Hearts & Hands Animal Rescue T-Shirt signed by one of the animals at Hearts & Hands. *Additionally, all participants to receive 200 votes or more will receive four free 2014 calendars.

All entry participants will receive one free calendar.
