Our ultimate goal is to operate as the middle man between owners who don't feel they can continue to care for their animals, and potential homes all over the Richmond area - BEFORE the animals are surrendered to shelters or the streets.

We've noticed for a long time that online pet ads are anything but trustworthy, and shelters never have empty beds. People who can't find homes for their animals dump them on the side of the road or send them off with strangers, and never know if their pet even survived the first week. We believe animals handle transition better when they avoid the trauma of shelter life. We also believe that adopting a pet is easier when you don't have to meet potential axe-murderers in dark alleys to hand the animal off. That is where we come in.

As we are getting the entirety of the organization up and running, we will run as a sort of Adoption Assistance Organization; doing our best to assist people through the ultimately hard process of re-homing a pet. We will do this by providing postings, new home screening assistance, adoption contracts, and owner education. We hope to set up a structure over time to offer alternatives to surrendering an animal, and we will always verify that any pet being re-homed through us has received fundamental health care (spay/neuter, rabies, etc). We are NOT a shelter, although our long term goals include establishing a foster network.
