HAPPA - Horse & Pony Protection Association
HAPPA-Leading the field in Equine Welfare & Second Chance Sponsorship. A HAPPA Rescue is just the beginning...a Forever Home for every Equine is our goal.
HAPPA aim to continually strive to improve and promote equine welfare through Rescue, Rehabilitation, Re-homing and Education.
Founded in 1937 to help fight against the transportation of live horses to the continent for slaughter; HAPPA continues to play a major role in all aspects of equine welfare. We strive to school and place rescued animals within new homes as soon as possible and constantly promote good equine welfare through best practice & educational events.
Our fully equipped Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre ensures that all of our rescued and abandoned equines are lovingly restored back to health. Our Centre nestled in the scenic hills above Burnley, Lancashire is home to between 40 - 60 equines at any one time and is open to visitors and hosts a café and gift shop on site.
Our Centre also hosts a number of special events and children's workshops throughout the year and our indoor arena is available for hire.
We are currently updating our facilities for our equines and visitors. You can follow the progress through Facebook, Twitter and Google + or through our website.
