Purpose of our rescue is to support animals from city shelters, to medically treat, transport, increase fostering, build up donations to support care and welfare for all animals we encounter. We want to help to eliminate the problems in Texas, and to educate and change the culture of acceptance, disrespect, and disregard.

Public Charity/Non-profit organization (501c3 ) in Corpus Christi. . We need funding to help get animals transported (future) our own cargo van to meet with larger transports, provide medical care for all animals either at animal control who are injured, spay/neutered or stray animals who need to be treated before adoption. To build a no-kill sanctuary for the many unwanted, discarded strays in South Texas, and to provide education to end animal suffering.

People often want to help and do not know how. As a professor who teaches statistics, I often use a mathematical model to explain that several people giving a little time, money, or effort is better than a few people giving ALL their time money and effort. The "few" people are limited by 24 hours in a day and other "human" factors. If many people giving a small amount it can grow to be a substantial amount, that can allow change to occur and dreams for south Texas animals to come true.

Island of Reprieve is based on the name given to north Padre by the "sage" of Padre Island. In the early 1900's, Louis Rawalt was a war veteran in his 20's, and was given 6 months to live. He and his wife moved to the Island, and stopped counting days. He lived over 50 years on Padre Island, and in his memoirs he called north Padre Island "the Island of Reprieve." He felt the island gave him a second chance. I was inspired to create the Island of Reprieve Pet Rescue, and give a chance to the animals who have no chance, who have been abused, who are roaming south Texas, or are in shelters and have only a short time to live.

After becoming involved in rescue efforts here in South Texas, I have seen many wonderful, selfless people who do wonderful things, as well as many people who want to help but do not know how, or who only have a little time or money to help, and cannot fully dedicate themselves. That little help is from so many is what will be most important. There is 500K in Corpus alone, only $10 dollars from each person would fully fund this rescue to help with their mission and also help others in the same efforts. Although not everyone would help, some can give more than others, and if we want CHANGE to occur, and want to stop the stray cycle from continuing, this is a great opportunity to make a difference, and to become a city/area of the country that is completely no-kill, with no stray animals alone and exposed to the elements, wandering aimlessly.

A little help from a lot of people is what we need to fund this rescue with the ability to help others,
