Releash Atlanta Donate
A 501c3, not for profit, 100% volunteer run rescue saving dogs from high kill shelters. We also match potential adopters with their furry new best friends!
Releash Atlanta is a 501c3, not for profit, 100% volunteer run, GA Department of Agriculture licensed charitable organization that works tirelessly to save dogs from high kill shelters throughout the state of Georgia.
We receive pleas for help around the clock, 7 days a week for desperate dogs in need of help. These dogs are often loving, happy family pets that end up behind bars through no fault of their own. We dedicate our lives and resources to saving these souls. We operate 100% on the donations we receive from the public, and every penny of those donations go directly to the dogs in our care, or to the ones that soon will be. We have no paid employees and never will, so you can donate knowing your gift is going to save a life, not to a salary!
Once dogs are in our care, they are immediately rushed to a vet to be thoroughly examined, vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and ultimately treated for whatever ailments they present with. Once they're healthy, they head to their foster home where they hang out with our awesome foster families until a loving forever home is found!
We save all breeds from Yorkies and Shih Tzus, Pit Bulls and Doberman Pinscers to mutts large and small! If a dog is in need, we are here to help and do as much as we can with the resources we have.
We also assist families that want to adopt, but find going to a shelter sad, difficult or overwhelming, by using our shelter/rescue network and contacts to find the type of dog you request. You tell us what you want and we do the legwork. By providing this service and making adoption easier, we hope to place rescue dogs with families that would otherwise support breeders or petstores.
We stand ready to help the community find a companion that will thrive as a part of their family. We are here to assist them as well as our rescue partners in every way possible throughout the adoption process and will continue to be a resource after they have welcomed their new family member.
We strive to make Atlanta a better place for our homeless pets, our rescue partners and shelters as well as all of the loving, adoptive homes out there! Please consider joining our team as a foster familiy!! WE NEED YOU!
We are a 501c3 non profit, all volunteer run dog rescue organization that matches shelter and rescue dogs with adoptive homes in and around Atlanta as well as giving local rescue groups large and small another outlet to get exposure for dogs you may not have seen otherwise. We also organize big, fun adoption events and parties all benefitting the homeless pets of Atlanta. We do this all in a positive, happy manner and refrain from the sad eyes begging behind bars - there is too much of that out there already. Join us on our mission to make Atlanta a better place for homeless dogs, and help us reach our goal of making adoption easier so people don't have an excuse anymore!

Are our fosters good sports or what 🥰 from a last minute “would you be mad if I was headed your way with 7 puppies” phone call, all the way to the themed photo shoot for their introduction ❤️
Here are our “freeze warning pups”! The cold weather brought with it the thoughts of hot cocoa and the upcoming holiday season. So, meet Tinsel, Noel, Holly, Jingle, Nick, Mistletoe and Joy ❣️ These adorable, super cuddly lab mixes will be ready to accept applications around the first week in December, so keep your eyes on the website! Tansy is ready for adoption!
This beautiful girl is around 14 weeks old and weighs about 25 lbs. She loves playing with other dogs, running around in the yard and snuggling in bed ❤️ She’s doing well with crate training and house training but due to her age she’ll still need frequent, consistent potty breaks. We expect Tansy will probably be around 50-65lbs full grown, but that’s just a guess since we don’t know anything about her parents ☺️
Tansy would love a home with a fenced in back yard and another playful dog friend 🏡 If interested in meeting her simply submit an application on our website 💻 www.releashatlanta.com

We did a last minute, pre freeze warning save last night! 🐾 🚗 ❄️
These pups, who had been living outside, got to their foster home just before temps dropped last night! Thank goodness!!!
There’s 7 total… 2 boys, 5 girls. But only 5 pictured because the other two were being held ❤️ They’ll be seen by our vet first thing this week, and we’ll update with their names ASAP! The most important thing is they’re now safe and warm 🥰
We have soooo many puppies right now! Which is wonderful, but also quite expensive!! If you’d be open to donating towards their care, or even sending some puppy supplies for their fosters via our Amazon wish list, we’d be FOREVER grateful!! We’ll post the links for both below!!
For everyone wondering, mom & dad will be staying with the owners, but we ARE going to make sure they’re vetted and spayed/neutered 🐶 💉 🐶

Good night from the sleeping beauty family 💙🥱😴🐾
11/12/2021
Hi there! My name is Rocco right now. But if we’re going to be family I’m open to a new name if you have something in mind that might suit me. I’m a 12lb male 1yo terrier mix. My foster mom says I have a great personality!
I love other dogs and people. Cats…not so much. I love going to the dog park and playing with the small dogs there. I’m house trained and good on a leash. I like being brushed and playing with squeaky toys. But my FAVORITE thing is sleeping with my people at night. If you’re looking for a bed buddy, I’m your man!
I want to make sure you know I only have three legs but it doesn’t slow me down at all.
My foster mom said having a backyard for me to play in would be great but not required. It’s also great if you have other dogs… as long as they’ll shove over at bedtime so I can sleep with you. But I’m OK being an only dog too. As my foster mom says, that just shows what an easy-going guy I am. If you think I’d be a good fit for your family, apply for me today!!

Does everyone remember sweet little Millie who was recently looking for her forever home? When we saved her from the shelter we were made aware of her “sister”, who managed to escape the animal control truck they were brought in on 💔 We asked the shelter to let us know if/when they ever found her and, well, here we are!
This poor, scared girl was finally found living on her own with the unexpected surprise of 3 little pups in tow 🐾 We of course said yes to taking them thanks to an AMAZING foster agreeing to help them (THANK YOU SO MUCH MICHELLE!!) and they’re now safe and warm 🥰
So, help us welcome Fenway (mama), RemDawg (dark brown pup), Pedro (white/cream pup), and Dusty (light brown pup). Mom is only around 12ish lbs, and we don’t know who dad was but we would expect the pups to probably be small/mediumish when full grown 💙💙💙
We promise to post updates on the family as they grow and settle in! And as usual, thank you all so much for your support, donations, shares and prayers! We couldn’t step in and help with situations like this without people like you!
We unfortunately also can’t save lives without foster homes 💔 which we are CRITICALLY low on. This family was able to be saved only because an incredible mom/puppy foster is doubling up on doggy families. But we’ve already had to say “no” to another litter of puppies in need today because there’s just simply no where for us to put them 😞 If you’ve ever considered fostering, we’d love to chat with you! You can start by submitting a foster application (which doesn’t commit you to anything, it just gives us your information to contact you) ❣️ Here’s the link, we hope to hear from you soon! https://releashatlanta.com/foster-application.php

Hey howdy hey,
My name’s Jessie! I am an ~18 month old, 22# little gal who is looking for a family to call my own. I’m not too particular, as I get along with all dogs (the more active, the better), kids of all ages, and any adult who wants someone to follow them around to chase a ball, lay in their lap, go for walks, or even do carpool! I would love a fenced in yard because I like to chase the other dogs at my foster home, and any other animal that wants to play. Did I say I like to walk on a leash? My foster-mom says I do really well on hikes or long runs - but I do like to bark at the other dogs along the way - that’s just my way of asking them to join us!
Now I have to warn you, I do have the coolest markings on my long and skinny legs, but that’s because I am a mixture of mostly Miniature Shorthaired Shepherd/German Shorthaired Pointer/ and Australian Shepherd, all rolled into one! I can even do cool things with my ears - now that’s talent!
So if I sound like your kind of gal, would you please fill out an application at ReleashAtlanta.com? I promise I will make the Holidays even more special for you, and I can’t wait to meet you!
Sincerely,
Jessie 🐾

“What’s the story, morning glory?” you might ask. More like, “What’s the *tail*, nightingale?”
Have you heard about Conrad the dog?!
Instead of “Bye, Bye Birdie,” say hi, hi to Conrad! This perky little lover wants to “go steady” with his new human.
He’s only about four months old, but he sure is “one boy, one special boy, one boy to go with, to talk with, and walk with” - did we mention he’s pretty good on a leash? He’s coming along well with house training, too, although it will take more time and training to ensure he really grasps the concept. He’s easy-going and doesn’t mind spending time snoozing in a crate at night or for short stints during the day if you ask him to (although he’d certainly prefer being snuggled up with you!).
We love you, Conrad, oh yes we do! There is no other dog, we love like you!
Conrad is very much still a puppy - floppy, uncoordinated, and nippy - so he’ll need a home without young children who could be easily hurt or upset by an errant paw scrape or nibble. He will also need pretty constant supervision for a while, as he is still learning what objects are and aren’t appropriate to chew and carry around. He loves playing with his foster siblings and would enjoy having a playful companion or two around.
We don’t really know what breeds are in there (the vet thinks he’s partly Jack Russell Terrier), but our best guess is he’ll be medium-sized (25-35 pounds) when fully grown. But don’t hold us to that!
Conrad has striking features and a wonderful personality. There’s no doubt he’s cuddly AND sincere, and he’s got a lot of livin’ to do! How lovely to be a doggie like him, and even lovelier to bring him into your home.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Fenced yard
* No small children in the home
* At least one other playful pup preferred
If you think you might be the perfect fit for this guy submit an application on our website! Www.releashatlanta.com
