It’s Giving Tuesday! And today your donation will be doubled!

Giving Tuesday, celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, was created in 2012 and centered around one main idea. "A day that encourages people to do good."

But why is it so important to North Meck dogs? It's because we rely solely on our supporters to help animals like:

❄️ Snowball (photo 2), a senior pup who came to us because his person had to go into a nursing home. Because of his age he needs extra vet care.

🎀 Sadie (photo 3) who has extreme hip dysplasia at age 2, needs surgery so she can find her forever home.

🎩 Abe (photo 4), a 6 week old kitten found in the middle of the road, needed emergency vet care to survive.

🐕 🐕 And so many others. 🐕 🐕

Giving Tuesday is almost here!

Did you know that we have FIVE play yards!? Unfortunately, we’re only approved to use ONE. The Dept. of Agriculture requires that we have either 6 inches of gravel or turf. NMAR feels turf is the way to go.

Turf is a long term solution.
Gravel requires costly, yearly replenishing.

Please give a gift today so we can start utilizing all our play yards.

✨ The Embassy is Open! ✨

Yesterday was the day we’ve all been waiting for! Over the past 6+ months our shelter has been entirely foster based while we’ve finished our new facility. We are thrilled to have the new location and it’s going to allow us to save so many more dogs! 🐾

Of course, we couldn’t have done this without all of you!

🏡 Fosters - thank you so much for giving our pups somewhere to rest their heads the past couple months!! Without places for dogs to go we would have had to stop rescue operations.
💰Volunteers/Donors - your dollars and hours helped us start, continue, and finish this project. From putting together kennels to funding the fence for our property you guys made this project. Thank you!
⭐️We can’t forget to thank our shelter director, Cate. Through this project she became a project manager, a contractor, and a whiz with a paint roller! She now knows more about permitting than she ever wanted to 😂 NMAR is so lucky to have you.

The sun setting an hour earlier - negative. ☀️ A new litter of puppies - huge positive!!!! 🐾 We just got in TEN 8 week old heeler/hound puppies. We believe they’ll be medium sized dogs. If you’re interested please submit an application and reference the “heeler/hound” litter. **please note we will not being reviewing applications until midweek**

⭐️ update: all puppies adopted ⭐️ Do I have a treat for you!? PUPPIES! 🐾 These teeny tiny puppies are 8 week old chihuahua mixes. There are 8 - 4 males and 4 females! Puppies are a project and will need lots of time, love, and care!

Due to their age we will only be adopting locally in the Charlotte area. Not all of them have made it to our website but all 8 are available for adoption. If you’re interested head to our website and fill out an application - reference the Chihuahua litter. ✨

✨ TOBY ✨

Toby is an energetic 1.5 year old fellow who loves toys. He enjoys playing with other dogs but is also fine to just be with his people! What he doesn’t really care for are public outings (breweries, brunch patios, etc). He’s much happier running around his fenced in yard with friends! ✨ NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY ✨

We LOVE our black dogs at NAMR. These handsome fellows are Spencer (loves water and sand 🙈), Berkeley, and Simon!

Unfortunately, because of “Black Dog Syndrome” black dogs spend more time in the shelter and are passed over in favor of their lighter colored counterparts.
