Little Valley Animal Shelter, Exeter (RSPCA)

Registered Charity No: 205154

To care for unwanted, abandoned and cruelly treated animals in the South, East and West Devon area.

Little Valley Animal Shelter is owned and run by the South, East and West Devon Branch of the RSPCA and is located on the outskirts of Exeter. The Shelter, founded in 1991, supports the work of local RSPCA inspectors by caring for and rehoming over 1000 of the neediest animals from our local area every year.

Little Valley’s running costs are in the region of £10,000 per week and, as we receive no funding from the RSPCA national society toward our day to day running costs, this all has to be met from local fundraising.

All animals stay at the Shelter until they are adopted into caring, responsible homes. A homechecker visits every prospective owner and follow-up checks are made to ensure the animal is well and settled.

The Shelter can accept a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, aviary birds, farm animals and equines. We also hold wildlife, pending their transfer to RSPCA West Hatch in Taunton.

Animals are only put to sleep on veterinary advice or because of incurable behavioural problems.
