Josh came to the shelter as a tiny kitten two months ago, suffering from a nasty (but not uncommon) kitten virus.
In spite of excellent medical attention from our shelter Vet, that virus caused ulcerations in his eyes and left him with permanent scarring.
Josh is not totally blind, but does have limited vision. He is completely healthy now, and is as normal as any other kitten with maybe slightly heightened hearing to make up for his vision loss. He seems to hear things before he can visually focus on them. He runs and plays like the little champion QB he is.
Josh can’t start his day without lots of head bumps and a big cuddling session. Then he will go about his business….doing all his drills and preparing for the next big game.? Josh hasn’t spent any time around other cats (or dogs) during his healing time, but kittens are almost always adaptable.
If you want this guy, you MUST be willing to bow to his head bumps every morning…it is required.
You can contact his foster mom with questions. KViz@aol.com or (716)316-4526

Dino is smart and sensitive and has been very friendly and ready to go along with everyone he’s bet while with us. He has a beautiful red brindle coat and eyes that smile. He’s about 1-2 years old and around 70 pounds.
He’s done great in playgroups with other young energetic pitties while with us.
He walks pretty good on leash, shows signs of being housetrained and does a great sit for a cookie.

Tundra is an approximately 2-3 year old husky who came to the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. He has the most gorgeous blue eyes that are hard to look away from! Tundra is still new to the shelter environment and getting used to life here, so we are learning about his personality. Tundra is pretty aloof and has his shy moments. Despite the big smile in his pictures, he is not an outgoing dog who will greet new people with kisses and tail wags. To earn this guy's friendship will require time, consistency and patience. Please do not expect a movie montage moment of love, with a blaring soundtrack in the background when you meet him . Because Tundra is on the nervous side, we would like to find him a home without children to help him decompress and find his place in the world. Also, a husky savvy home who understands the needs and quirks of this breed will be needed. Tundra has been fine with the dogs he has met thus far at the shelter, and might benefit from a canine pal to help him transition better to life as a pet.
Cooper A44964699 6 year old tabby male
Buttercup A48302807 4 month old orange tabby female
These two shelter kitties met in my foster home: Big Cooper was recovering from dental surgery, and tiny Buttercup was an orphan kitten. They quickly bonded and have been inseparable ever since. They have just arrived at the adoption center at Petsmart on Elmwood Ave in Buffalo, waiting for their perfect family to give them both a loving, lifelong home.
Cooper is a gentle giant who gets along with everybody, and Buttercup is affectionate and playful when she adjusts to her new home. Both cats are up to date on their vaccinations, have been microchipped, are spayed/neutered, and come with a free first wellness visit with the vet of your choice. We also give you starter bags of food.
Applications can be found at the adoption center at Petsmart on Elmwood Ave in the Tops Plaza in Buffalo. The adoption fee for Buttercup is $110.00, and Cooper's fee is being sponsored for the pair. These two friends deserve a wonderful, loving home.

Clawdia is about one year and an amazing lap cat. She borderlines on pest, but if you are looking for a friendly loyal girl Clawdia is the one. She is sweet and petite.
She did seem hissy and jealous when other cats tried to invade her lap space, but with slow and proper introductions she will do just fine.
The shelter is processing adoptions by appointment only. Please submit an application at https://friendsofcbas.org/adopt and call the shelter to make an appointment.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming, a free vet visit and a starter bag of food.

Arby is a young guy that is calm, easy going and friendly. He has been on adventures with a volunteer and he loves riding in the car, cuddling, Pupchinos and wearing a sweater to keep cozy.
In his assessment Arby showed minor resource guarding when tested with food. Due to this we are limiting his adopters to those without small children and also sponsored him with training to help him adjust to a new home.
He is a good size around 60 pounds, has really unique cute spots and ears. He is sure to be a great companion for years to come.
We are so thankful for Malik and Alan for the wonderful Thanksgiving meal they made and served to our animals yesterday. (You can get a gourmet meal for your own dog at Iron Tail Tavern in the Elmwood village.) We hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving, and that we see a lot of you on Saturday when we will have open adoptions. The Shelter is very full, please help our local dogs and cats!

Katrina is an approximately 12 month old bully breed mix who came to the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. She has a slim build and long face, but we expect her to fill out a bit more as she matures. This gal is all about having fun and living life to it's fullest extent! There is no time to sit around play on your phone when there are so many adventures outside to be had, according to this pretty pittie! Katrina would do best with an active, outdoorsy family who plan on playing and exercising her. She is very dog friendly, but her rough and tumble play style might be a bit too much for an old or laid back dog. Despite her current predicament, Katrina still has so much joy in her eyes when she plays and runs around, it's hard not to be infected by her good mood and pure joy. Come meet this little ray of sunshine ASAP!
Because of the COVID19 situation, the shelter is closed to the general public. If you would like to meet any of the adoptable dogs, please fill out an application online (if you are not already pre-approved) , call the shelter, and leave a message with your name and phone number and the dog you're interested in. Have patience, and they will call you back when they can. From there, a time will be scheduled for you to come and meet the dog. Please be patient, and remember they are very short staffed at the moment.
