Thank Dog I Am Out Dog Rescue

To rescue dogs at risk of death, abuse, neglect or surrender

To rescue as many DEATH ROW dogs from high-kill shelters in California as possible. We understand there are many local dogs in need of rescue, and I have been involved in many of those, too.

Because they euthanize OVER 600 DOGS A DAY in the state of California alone, I had to make a decision, and focus on pulling and placing as many dogs as I can into caring homes here in the Lower Mainland.

While TDIAO is a personal rescue, it still takes an army to save a dog. Fortunately, I have an amazing rescue network in California who prepare my dogs for their final journey for their new lives in B.C. I have been involved in over 100 rescues so far - and 99% of these rescue dogs are referred to DEATH ROW dogs, those on their last day to be adopted. The dogs have all been living in what are often referred to as “KILL” buildings, (not animal control shelters) where they are kenneled in overcrowded, loud, and bright facilities reeking of death. In some “shelters”, dogs must be adopted within a 24-hour period once they become available to the public. During peak periods (often holiday weekends), if they are not rescued in that one day period, they are euthanized (and some not in a humane way, either). These “shelters” are not anything like the system we have for our displaced dogs here in B.C. I dedicate myself to these very wonderful, very adoptable dogs, and while we do change their lives forever, it’s really the dogs who in turn end up transforming their new FURever human’s lives as well.

Dog rescue, dog re-homing, dog adoption, dog assessment, dog training, animal advocacy.
