Hungry and Homeless Cat Rescue

Please help us help the hungry and homeless cats in downtown Ottawa. We are in need of Foster and Permanent Homes to get these poor abandoned cats and kittens off the street and into a warm place for the winter.

"Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being
of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small
compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other
way. "
Martin Luther King Jr.

Our mission is to save as many of these poor little creatures as possible from the cruelness of humanity - those who have been dumped or abandoned, or born outside from those neglected cats.

We try to "save" as many cats as we can to have them spayed/neutered in order to try and help put a stop to the widespread amount of cats and kittens that are abandoned or on the streets and keep producing....

When we find or hear of a cat or family living outside on their own, a member of HHCR finds them and evaluates their situation. In almost all cases the animals are undernourished, hurt, diseased, parasitic, dirty and sometimes freezing to death.

The cats are taken to a Vet for evaluation and assistance as soon as possible.

When the animal is in stable condition they are offered for adoption. As soon as possible in this process the cat is kept in a foster home to be cared for temporarily until adoption.

Foster and adoption homes are evaluated to ensure the best situation for the cat(s).
