Our sweet boy, Beylix, is living in the adoption center in the Petsmart in the Tustin Marketplace. Here he is with his paws smooshed up against the glass (one up and one down) while he people watches. Come by and say HI! We will be having adoptions this Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm.

Rescue isn't always about emergencies or life or death or miracles. A lot of times, it is just about patience.

I found Juniper in January of 2014 in a boarded up stairwell at a closed down Olive Garden in Anaheim Hills. After a few days of feeding her, I literally just picked her up and put her in a carrier. At that time, the vet estimated her age to be about 1 year old.

After she got fixed, she became a wonderful, loving cat. She liked to lie on my chest and kiss me on the lips or snuggle under my chin or stand up on her hind legs and rub her face against mine. She gave the best slow blinks ever. A real sweetheart. The perfect cat. Should be easy to get her adopted, right?

I took Juniper to many, many adoption events over the years. At our store, offsite, Pet Expo, IACC Shelter events. She usually showed very well despite ALWAYS getting car sick 5 minutes after leaving the house and then pooping in her carrier. But she kept getting passed over for kittens or more interesting looking cats. I loved her little clown face and half smile but a lot of people are not interested in the dark colors of Torties or black cats. I continued to persist over the years. As much as I loved Juniper, she deserved a home of her own where she could get more love than I had time to give her.

I had not planned to bring Juniper to adoptions that day. We were limited on cage space and the lady who had contacted us looking to adopt wanted a small cat. Juniper is an average size cat, and she had gained some weight when I had to board her recently. But she is the perfect cat, especially for an elderly woman who wants a lap cat.

This time on the drive in, she did not throw up or poop in her carrier. Maybe she knew this was her chance and she wanted to keep herself presentable.

I introduced Juniper to Ursula by placing her on her lap where she settled in like she belonged there. We had other cats to show her too, but Juniper stole her heart. Ursula immediately started thinking about what to rename her and couldn’t wait to tell her friends. It was a good match. After almost 4 years, Juniper finally found her forever family.
