#GivingTuesday 🐾 Adoptable Hansel would like to purrrsonally thank everyone who donated the other month to his rather large vet bill from when he needed emergency obstruction surgery. Although his vet bill has now been covered, we still have bills with our regular vet that always need paying off so he hopes that this Giving Tuesday you'll help out all of his homeless friends as our awesome vets at Morristown Animal Hospital (& our kitty foster parents) work hard to get them healthy and ready for adoption! Hansel the snuggle bug is wondering why he's still waiting for a furever home?!? 🐈

He loves to roll on his back for belly rubs. After his obstruction surgery (details in a previous post & his bio on our site), he is now fully healed. To be on the safe side, we recommend a home that is willing to only supply hard cat toys, and pick up small soft objects around the house. But it is a small price to pay for such an amazing cat! He has been well behaved in his foster home, and we have had no issues with him. He does well with other cats or on his own and also does fine with dogs. He is around 2 years old and ready to go home for the holidays!

Petunia was living as a stray in Stanhope with 14 other cats being fed by a kind resident until the number of cats became too much to handle and they were also worried about them living near a very busy road. The Hopatcong Shelter took them all in but needed help placing so many cats so we took in Petunia and a few of her friends!

Petunia is a super friendly girl, outgoing, and enjoys the company of other cats (especially her friend Daisy, although they do not need to be adopted together). She is around 1 year old, spayed, and ready to go to her forever home!

So thankful this year to have wonderful foster homes that help our rescue kitties get healthy. Look at this before & after shot of Odette! She's putting on weight nicely now that she is no longer nursing her kittens.

Poor Odette had a rough life! She came from a hoarding situation of 100 cats in one home where she was having litter after litter of kittens. Finally, the cats were surrendered to the Newark Shelter and we pulled her and her 4 kittens from there.

She has been a great mom but she is definitely ready to retire from that life - and she deserves it!! She is approximately 7 years old which is way too old to still be having kittens.

She loves attention and is very sweet with a great purr but not much of a snuggler. She mostly ignores other cats in her foster home, so would do best in a home with other chill cats or even as a solo cat. She's content to lounge around all day, not much interest if any in playing. Please take Odette home for the holidays! 🐈

She is a petite girl and only about 4-5 months old. She loves other cats, especially her friend Petunia (they would love to be adopted together but it's not a requirement!). She is friendly and playful, the perfect little calico!

Looking for a snuggle buddy under the blankets this winter? Adopt Morgan! He may be a bit of a shy guy, but he is super snuggly.

The Hopatcong Shelter was helping out a resident in Stanhope who was feeding stray cats when the number of cats started getting out of hand. All the kitties were friendly and they needed help placing them so we took a few in!

Morgan is a little nervous about his new surroundings, but he is super sweet! He loves receiving attention and will happily roll on his back to show you how comfy he is. He gets along fine with other cats and is only around a year old. A great addition to any home! 🐱

Adopt Josie!!

Her foster mom says she (& Melody, not pictured here) are both total lovebugs. They love to snuggle in bed and receive attention. Josie is around 4 years old and on the lower energy side. She loves to lounge in her bed. She gets along fine with other cats. She is a Maine Coone mix and around 15lbs - but she could stand to lose a few.

We took her and Melody in from a fellow rescuer who needed help. Josie & Melody were picked up as strays for TNR so are ear-tipped but they are way too nice to live outside. 🐈‍⬛ Can be adopted separately or together as they do get along.

She has been a great mom but she is definitely ready to retire from that life - and she deserves it!! She is approximately 7 years old which is way too old to still be having kittens. Her kittens are old enough to be adopted now so she will be spayed (and can finally start putting on weight! She is SUPER skinny) and ready for her new home.

She has that typical "tortie-tude" calico lovers adore but she does also love attention and is very sweet with a great purr. She mostly ignores other cats in her foster home, so would do best in a home with other chill cats or even as a solo cat. She's content to lounge around all day, not much interest if any in playing. 🐈

Swipe to see Sheba's intake photo at the Newark Shelter! Look at the difference that love and care for a year can make. That's right, a year! Sheba has been waiting for a home for 1 YEAR next month! 😿

Sheba arrived at the Newark shelter before Christmas and we pulled her in January and she is still waiting for a home. She is 8-9 years old and has a beautiful and soft black smoke tabby coat (meaning her undercoat is white). Life as a stray has made her look a little rough around the edges... But once she is comfortable with you, she is a total lovebug and will become your shadow - she follows her favorite staff members around at the vet and loves to lay in their laps. She was a staff favorite at the shelter as well!
Sheba likes to be the queen of her domain and will not tolerate other cats, dogs she has been okay with (probably preferably a lower energy dog). She's not super playful, she'd much rather sleep the day away. She also has little to no teeth left so a wet food diet is a must. 😺
