Today is #givingtuesday and seems like the perfect day for an update on sweetheart Cupid. Just like her namesake, she oozes love and affection.

She recently completed her third surgery. She went through the complex process of having her eye lids repaired from eyelid agenesis, needing two surgeries. Then her diligent foster noticed she was walking in an abnormal way. She needed her hips stabilized as her hip sockets were far too narrow. She recently finished her recovery and was such a brave and strong girl.

She was patient with her recovery and exceeded all expectations. Cupid is as strong and brave as she is sweet. She’s back to herself and has free roam of the house again, getting to play, hangout and snuggle with best friend Poppet and her other foster friends.

We know we have had to fundraise a lot for Cupid. Her surgeries and care so far has cost us over $10,000. She deserves to live a happy and pain free life and we committed to providing her that no matter the cost. With your help and donations we have been able to keep that promise to her and we are so grateful and want to express our gratitude on behalf of Cupid and Poppet as well.

Cupid has a few more appointments to complete before her and Poppet are ready to start their search for their forever home, paw in paw, as best friends forever. Cupid will have a follow up with both her eye surgeon and our partner vet who did her hip surgery.

#givingtuesday is a special day to support the charities close to your heart. Today we focus on some of extra special cats in our care.

Turbo has been with us, patiently waiting for his forever home, for 396 days today. We don’t really know why. Sure, he’s special needs, he has no mobility of his back legs and needs his bladder manually expressed, but beyond these medical needs - he’s perfect. In ever way. He’s amazing with other cats, he loves to both play and nap, he’s fiercely independent and gets around in his own unique way, and can do anything he sets his mind to. His optimism and determination in his approach to life are inspiring. He is one of the most lovable happy cats in our care.

He will spent his 400th day with us, and we will continue to share and celebrate how amazing he is. He will likely spent his second Christmas with Team Cat Rescue. Every year we look at the cats who have been with us the longest and wonder why they have been over looked by so many. Turbo just wishes for a forever home of his own.

Because of your help we can commit to cats like Turbo. Although we never expected him to be with us for so long, we are grateful to have your help and support. We know his perfect home is out there.

Every dollar makes a difference in a cats life. Today is #givingtuesday and we ask you to please consider donating. We rescue many kittens and healthy adult cats. It’s the medically complicated and the seniors who really hold a special place in Team Cat Rescue and in our hearts and where the bulk of our donations go.

Oh sweet little Chicory. This young boy has quite the story to tell. Rescued at just three months old, he arrived scared and unsure of people. With his fosters patience, dedication and love, he learned to trust and love people. He is an affectionate and loving lap cat now. He will not leave your lap empty for long.

This boy is special needs. On the right diet and probiotics, his stools are very normal, but his anal sphincter does not always work as well as it should. He uses the litter box perfectly but often does not have control over his bowel movements. We know this requires some extra patience and understanding.

Chicory is like so many others. Overlooked and outshined by other cats in our care. His special needs make it easy for potential adopters to click past his profile online.

Sweet Chicory may be with us for longer as he waits for his perfect home but we are committed to standing by him and his needs. Every person he gets to know understands how truly special he is.

#givingtuesday is today, a day focused on charities and the important work they do. We work with death row cats, from high kill shelters. We have always been drawn to helping those with more unique needs, the medically complex and seniors. We pride ourselves in the complex cases we are able to take on and the community we have behind us. Our donors, who make the work we do possible, we couldn’t exist without you and we are forever grateful for your ongoing support and the work you allow us to do. Our volunteers, who work tirelessly at the countless jobs within the rescue, often hard challenging and thankless. And our fosters, who are also make everything possible, as we have no main location or shelter, our fosters are everything to us.

Beansprout, who needs one last surgery we hope is soon, has been with us for 936 days today. Because of your support we can help Beansprout and so many cats like him.
