Howdy! The name is Mighty Beanz, and I’m a strapping lad, born in 2016. They suspect I may have some Bengal in me, due to my long and lean physique.

I had a male owner, and lived with another male cat. He moved out of the country and could only take one of us. He had the other cat longer, so I understand. I know he would have taken me if he could.

When I first arrived at the shelter, I was pretty friendly, and curious about everything. My size can be intimidating, and I don’t always pick up on social cues (like if you are backing away, I’ll just come closer!). But, as time goes on, I sleep more and more. I miss the days of having plenty of room to run and jump, and stretch these long limbs. The loss of my human and cat brother are starting to get to me. The people who care for me here are worried that I’m going downhill. I desperately need to be rescued.

My ideal home would be with someone who can renew and admire my spirit, and challenge me, both physically and mentally—a partner in this adventure we call life. Does that sound like you?

☄️Hello there! My name is Mando and I am a 1-year-old Foxhound Mix. I traveled to MaxFund a long time ago, from a galaxy far away called Texas. I was taken care of by my foster parents because I tested heartworm positive, but I am all done with my treatment!

☄️I am hoping to travel to my furever home next. My perfect home would be one where I get lots of play time. I am only 1 year old, so I still have lots of energy. Unfortunately, heartworm treatment meant I needed to stay as still as I could. It might have been easier if I had just been frozen in carbonite. I much prefer going on walks and playing with my favorite people. I cannot wait to find my person and go on lots of adventures with them!

My name is Butler, and I’m a young tuxedo guy with yellow/green eyes. I’d like to share my story with you.

I came to MaxFund as a feral kitten in 2016. I lived in the Shy room for almost three years. The volunteers worked hard on socializing me and showing me that people are good and loving. I was always willing to play and take treats, but I wouldn’t allow them to touch me. Until one day, when I decided that they meant no harm, and I accepted pets. There were tears and cheers from those who loved me and worked so hard. And, then it happened. In February 2019, I was adopted. And the best part was I was going to live in a home where another cat from the Shy room already lived. It made everyone so happy!

Then, it all came crashing down. My owner gave me away, and that person had a cat who bullied me. And that is how I’ve come full circle. A happy forever life was in my grasp, and then it vanished. And, all my feline friends from my first time here—are all gone. I’m trying hard not to slip back to my old ways of not trusting people, but it’s a struggle. The volunteers who helped me the first time I was here are being patient and giving me the time I need to readjust. Their hearts are broken for me.

I’m still a young cat with lots of years left. I get along fine with nice cats, who don’t try to bully me. I need someone who will understand what I’ve been through and let me learn to trust again at my own pace. I promise you, I’ll be the best cat I can be.

Hi friends! I’m Mow Mow, a beautiful ginger boy who was born in 2018. I came to MaxFund after a nice person rescued me from an unpredictable and dangerous life on the streets.

I don’t mind telling you that I’m a total charmer (at least that’s what everyone tells me!) with my adorable friskiness and my friendly, outgoing nature! Since I’m a youngster, playtime is hugely important to me and I’m like lightning in a bottle! And, as much as I love to play, I also love lounging in laps and having lots of affectionate cuddles and scritches! I live in a room with other kitties and I do fine with those who are confident, energetic players like I am. I’m probably a little bit annoying to quieter, mellower cats but, hey, I’m only three and still perfecting my manners! I also have a history of getting along with dogs and older children, too!

Hello. My name is Philly, and I’m a handsome chocolate point Siamese boy, born in 2016.

I’ve suffered a lot of loss in my short life. I lived in a town in New Mexico with a big hearted lady. She took in animals who had no one to care for them. Soon people were just dropping them off, and the numbers grew. She did the best she could, and I’ll always be grateful. Sadly, she passed away in March. MaxFund traveled down there and brought thirty of us back. I was rescued with my brother, Dilly.

I figured as long as I had my brother by my side, I could endure anything. In August, someone noticed that Dilly wasn’t looking too good. They took him to the emergency vet, and that was the last I saw of him. I didn’t know a heart could break twice. Because I didn’t appear to be socialized, I went to live in the Hideaway room. Even though I missed my brother, I was happy to be out of a cage. The volunteers have been working hard to gain my trust, and I’m slowly becoming more comfortable. I recently allowed a little brushing, and I chased a toy a bit. But, I still have a long way to go.

I’m hoping I find a home with a caring person, who will understand what I’ve been through, and give me the time I need. Maybe, you’re dealing with a loss, and we can help heal each other. I know my life can only get better, and I’d love a fresh start with you.

Hello! I’m Summer, a fetching three-year-old girl with wide innocent eyes and a soft black, white and caramel tabby coat.

As with many kitties here at the shelter, my backstory is a bit sad. My life was turned upside down in April 2021 when I lost the only home I’d ever known after my owner went to hospice. So, I may seem a little nervous when you first meet me, but I promise it doesn’t mean that I don’t like you! It just means that I’m not sure what to make of this new environment which has so many cats! I’m pretty sure that I’ve never lived with another cat before, and now I find myself sharing my room with so many of them! I guess this is why most of the visitors to my room don’t realize how fun and playful I am.

I’ve had six long months to mourn the loss of my beloved human. I now feel more than ready to start my new life in a loving home where I feel confident enough to show you all my favorite things, such as rolling around wrestling with toys and blankets, batting at the feathery wand and having lots of cheek and chin scratches! I know that I am afraid of children, but with time and a gradual introduction I think I could get along with another cat and even a nice, gentle dog. Please come meet me soon!

🐾Stop right there! You look like you need us to spice up your life! We are the Spice Pups Litter! Meet Basil, Chai, Clove, Coriander, Oregano, Paprika, Parsley, Poupon, Saffron, and odd ball, Chunky Monkey. The 10 of us are beautiful Labrador Retriever Mix. We were born in August of 2021. We came from Texas in hopes of finding our forever families.

🧂We came to Colorado at only a few weeks old and were immediately sent home to a foster home. Our pawesome foster gave us the opportunity to grow in a safe environment and allowed us to experience what a home will be like together.

🧂As a puppy, we are relying on our future owners to teach us how to be the best doggo we can be. We will need to begin training on things like walking on a leash, going to the bathroom, and socializing with other puppers. We currently have only had experience with our spice members and would love to meet more friends!

So, how did I wind up at MaxFund, you ask? You see, I was found as a stray and my background is unknown to everyone but me – it adds a little mystery, don’t you think? But I don’t want to dwell on the past because I’m hoping for a better future. I’m still young, and have my whole life ahead of me. Not all tabbies are born equal, and my markings make me beautifully unique. Speaking of unique, I was born with extra toes! That makes me a polydactyl cat, and legend has it, we bring good luck. The volunteers who love me want me to tell you that photos don’t do me justice. They think I’m one of the prettiest tabbies in the shelter.

On the website, it says I’ve only been here since March, but I actually got here a year before that. You see, I was briefly adopted and returned. I don’t think I did anything wrong, but my confidence is not what it was. I’ll be honest, I’m having a bit of a hard time here at the shelter. The close proximity to other cats makes me pretty nervous. Because of that, the nice people here think I might do best as your only cat. You will find that it takes a little time for me to warm up. I can assure you that once I’m in a home and I can relax, you’ll find me to be a sweet and playful girl. I’m dreaming of finding a new human who will be patient with me and help me learn how to trust again.  I know I will be the best cat ever!  Please come to Maxfund and ask to meet me—Kia Katt!

Hello, friends, my name is Flicker and I’m a 14-year-old beauty with pretty green eyes and a soft fluffy grey coat.

I was brought to MaxFund in May 2021 because my owner was moving. I’m not sure why they couldn’t take me with them but here I am, trying to figure out how to start over.

💙

At first, I may seem reserved but that’s just because I’m a little introverted and don’t seek out attention. If you approach me gently, you’ll quickly discover that I’m as eager for love and affection as any other kitty. I’m absolutely engulfed in happiness when receiving pets and I’ll climb right into your lap and purr up a storm! I even enjoy my grooming sessions -- I came in with some painful mats but I’ve been a real trooper and have allowed most of them to be removed even though it’s been very uncomfortable. The yummy treats I’m given definitely help! I really need to be an only fur child but I do have a history of getting along fine with children. The important thing is that they’re gentle and also respectful of my senior status. I’m eligible for both adoption and foster.

🐾Hi friends! I am Indigo! I am 3 years old and looking for a new furever home. My previous family couldn't work with me through some of my behavioral issues, so they brought me to MaxFund with the hope that I will find a person who will help me. In my previous home I did not get along with the new puppy that was adopted. I generally get along with other dogs, but I should be the only dog in the household.

🐾Right now, I am still not sure where I am and miss my old family. It takes me some time for me to warm up to people and I can be rather shy in the beginning. Once we get to know each other though, I will be the most loyal dog ever!

🐾I will need to continue my training, so that I can be the best canine citizen and bestest girl in the whole world. Are you willing to put in the work with me? I promise I will make it worth your while! When I am not doing my training, I love to get out all my energy by running around in the courtyard and going on walks. Hi there, friends! I'm Llama, an adorable, cuddly grey and white tabby lady who was born in 2010. I arrived at MaxFund in June 2020 when my owner could no longer care for me. I've been very lucky to be in a wonderful foster home for the past five months, but it's time for me to move on and find my forever home or another foster home.

🧶

My foster mom will tell you that I'm a very sweet girl who is also very easy to care for. On top of that, I'm playful and spry -- I especially love hunting my little stuffed mouse, chasing after wand toys and following the red dot! I'm also crazy about being brushed and I adore sunbathing in front of a nice window. I'm a huge fan of petting sessions! I'll even let you know when it's time to get my daily doses of affection, and I'll purr gratefully and give you plenty of gentle headbutts in thanks.

One other important thing to know about me is that I am diabetic, so I require insulin and a special diet. But please don't let this discourage you - my foster mom says that my injections are never, ever a challenge. In fact, I'm such a good girl that I even lie down in anticipation of receiving my insulin!

I'm really hoping to find another calm and loving home soon. I'm currently living with other cats. Since I tend to be a bit of a loner, I would be very happy as an only pet. But, I'm not at all aggressive toward other cats and would also be fine with another kitty as long as they are polite and mellow. Children would have to be polite and gentle and understand how to interact with a cat.
