Our rescue is a new beginning and often times a last hope for horses that may otherwise be sent to slaughter. Saving horses from neglect, abuse and abandonment is our mission.Giving them another chance for a happy, healthy and peaceful life is our wish. Some will be rehabbed and available for adoption while others, for various reasons, will find permanent refuge at our sanctuary. Please, help us help the horses that so desperately need us.

Here are 9 ways you can help Rivers Edge. Doing any one of the items below will help.

1 ) Make a donation, even a few dollars will help. A bale of hay costs between $6 and $7 and will last about 1 1/2 days for most horses but our big guy Tank eats almost 2 bales per day. :)

2 ) Please visit our page as much as possible and interact by sharing, liking, clicking on photos and commenting. This will allow others to see more of our posts. This so very, very important to our survival and our visibility on Facebook! Even a heart or a smiley face for a comment will help! 3 ) Help educate people and make them aware of the reasons we need horse rescues. Encourage others to get involved with a rescue! It is so very expensive to run a horse rescue so help is always needed especially for fundraising.

4 ) Participate in our activities. Some are for the locals but we also have online projects from time to time.

5 ) If you live near Rivers Edge (Newton NJ) PLEASE VOLUNTEER!! We always need volunteers for the farm and also for special events such as bake sales, pet expos and vendor events!
