Volunteer Brevard Humane Society

Volunteers Page- Founded in 1952 Brevard Humane Society (Central Brevard Humane Society) is the community’s oldest established animal welfare organization.

The Brevard Humane Society is a 501c3 non-profit entity. We receive no government funding, nor any funding from the county. We run solely from donations from the community. Volunteers are a crucial part of our team and our organization would not be able to thrive without our volunteers. We have a skeleton crew at the shelter and at our Merritt Island facility and depend heavily on our volunteers to help us with many different tasks. There are many different opportunities fro volunteering with us including dog walking, cat socialization, helping in our low cost spay/neuter clinic, data entry, and customer service.
Public education is another crucial element in our mission to help the homeless animals. We are consistently out in the community partnering with local businesses to bring awareness and education to the public. We also hold many off site adoption events, that give our animals an opportunity to our animals to be seen outside of the shelter environment. This is a great opportunity for volunteers really shine and engage in the public if you love talking to people!!
More opportunities for volunteering are in our Molly Mutt thrift stores. We have 5 of them located from Palm Bay to Titusville. (see our website for addresses) The thrift stores help to support the financial care of every animal that comes into our shelter. Again, volunteers are our heartbeat and lifeline, our organization would not be functional without wonderful caring people in our community. Every month we are blessed with over 2200 hours of volunteer work. if you are interested in being a part of this great organization, please do not hesitate to contact us!
