Meet Ms. Vixen! You might not guess that I am kind of a big deal just by looking at my photo. But I am a rather rare commodity around these parts. I am a Bengal cat, and we are known for being a) beautiful, b) intelligent, c) active, and d) in need of plenty of playtime/stimulation to keep our minds busy. There were five of us surrendered to the HSHC due to the health of our owner, and I am the only one left. I am 2-years-old, but I weigh only 4.8 lbs! I have the silkiest, soft fur. The interviewer told me I felt like a chinchilla! Whatever that is. I let her pet me all over, and I purred and purred, and I even gave her several kisses (little licks with my tongue). I have a very petite meow to go with my petite size. Come on in to meet me, you won't be disappointed!
James is a sweet boy who will fall in love quickly as long has you have some treats and a squeaky ball! At 63lbs, this guy is all muscle and is ready to continue his body building career! He would make a great gym accountability buddy. Being a stray, James' last two years of life are a mystery. As you can imagine, seeing new people every day could get a little confusing and James wants nothing more than a family to call his own. He is hoping that everyone will be 8 and older and that there will be lots of long walks in his future. If he sounds like your match, ask to meet with him today!

Thank you to this Eagle Scout for choosing HSHC as the beneficiary for his project. Look at all of the amazing items he donated to our animals 🐾
Hey there, I'm Gaia! I found out I was brought to the HSHC because my owner had too many animals. I have been hanging out here since September 10, ’21. When I first got here, I was a bit on the shyer side and felt most comfortable hanging out in my Kitty Kasa so I could watch and see what was happening around me. Once I got to spend some time in a foster home, I broke out of my shell and was able to show off who I really am. I am a huge snuggle bug and I love playing with my toys. I gladly accept hugs once I’m comfortable and I use my litter box to perfection. Now I am back and the shelter and ready to settle in to my forever home!
Sweet Della is a woman of wisdom! In her 8 years, she has experienced a lot. Della's two favorite things in life are following scent trails and munching on her favorite snacks. She would love to have a walking buddy to help keep her accountable since she is looking to lose a little bit of weight. There is no doubt that this girl is a Beagle, she has the best Beagle bark that you have ever heard! Della loves to work, especially for treats and will show off her beautiful sit. Della is desperate to find her perfect retirement home!
Check out our very own Daisy and McLovin featured in @danielsvineyard Pawty Pack! Be sure to grab one for the holidays - a portion of proceeds benefit the animals in our care 🐾

Ox is a big, strong boy looking for a fun adopter to keep him active and entertained! At 2yrs old, he is ready for all the adventures that life is going to bring! He is an exuberant and excited boy who is very social with everyone he meets. Ox is very intelligent, and would benefit from daily training sessions to continue learning all of his adult dog manners. Ox is still learning to share his high value things, so it is best that he is placed in a home where all children are at least 10. Come in and ask to meet this handsome fella!

Hey friends, Stormy here! I would love to find my new home very soon. I am down for just about anything you want to do from walks, runs, playtime or snuggling. I am a very beautiful brown and white girl and consider myself a very loyal friend. I am ready to drink pumpkin spiced lattes and take selfies, let's make memories together! If you are going to pick out some toys for me, make sure they are the squeaky kind! Those are the absolute best! I'm 5 years old, so I am much more mature than a puppy and I can show you my nice manners. I spent a little time in a foster home where I did wonderful around kids of all ages. The nice people here say I am super healthy and ready to go! I am already dreaming of relaxing fireside on my new comfy couch.
If Stormy is the gal for you, please come to HSHC with the whole family and any canine siblings - she can't wait to meet you. She would prefer a home without cats.
Meet Monkey! Monkey is a busy bee at only 10 months old. Monkey is very active and spunky, and will be a lot of fun for someone! He is very intelligent and looking for a home who can help him grow into a well-mannered adult. Monkey has been working here at the shelter on his adult manners and will need continued positive treat-based training once he's in a home to ensure that he keeps learning. Some of Monkey's favorite things are stuffie toys and treats! Monkey is going to do best in a home where any kids are 13 and older so that everyone can help in Monkey's success of growing into a wonderful adult dog. If he sounds like a good fit for your home, ask to meet him today!
Meet Tiger & Bandito!
You never think that you might become an orphan until you find out your owner has passed away. We are 3-years-old, biological brother and sister, and arrived at the HSHC on October 3rd. We promised each other that we would always stay together, and the shelter told us they would make sure of it. Tiger is a lovely girl with brown, white, black, and orange fur, and Bandito is a handsome boy with a brown, black, and white coat. We both have strikingly beautiful blue eyes! Bandito is the more confident, outgoing of the two, while Tiger is very shy and loves to hide. We become lovey-dovey once we are familiar with you. We provide each other with comfort, support, and a shared history. We have never lived with dogs before, but we're willing to give it a go! We have both been altered, our front paws have been declawed, and we have always had excellent litterbox manners. Bandito admits that he has a bit of a weight issue, but he should slim down with a bit of exercise and reduced treat-intake. We now live in a foster home for a break from the shelter, and it's been fantastic! We each have a cat bed, but sometimes we snuggle in one bed. If you love sisters and brothers, perhaps you will make room for us.
This week’s staff favorite is from Melody, our Cattery Coordinator! Melody would like to introduce Julie, a 6-year-old female who has been at HSHC for 3 months. When Julie first arrived at the shelter, she was pretty nervous. “She has really flowered and opened up now.” Melody loves that Julie’s markings look like she has Moe’s haircut from the Three Stooges! Melody says that Julie tolerates other cats as she is hanging out in one of our free roaming rooms, but would rather just ignore them and do her own thing. Julie’s favorite spots to nap and hang out are in the sunniest places she can find. Melody explained that Julie is a very laid-back cat who loves to nap her day away!
Julie is at the shelter and available for adoption. If you think that she sounds like a good fit for you, come on in to meet her!
