To build a new Ingham County Animal Shelter by passing a millage on Tuesday, August 2nd!

*This millage is subject to approval by the County Board of Commissioners at their April 26th meeting. A resolution to place the millage on the August ballot was passed by the Law and Courts Committee on April 14th.

ANIMAL CONTROL SHELTER REPLACEMENT MILLAGE QUESTION

For the purpose of supporting funding for County animal program services, including constructing, equipping, and financing, and subsequently operating a new county animal shelter which would replace the existing facility with one that will be more sanitary, humane, and efficient to staff, shall the Constitutional limitation upon the total amount of taxes which may be assessed in one (1) year upon all property within the County of Ingham, Michigan be increased by up to 35/100 (0.35) of one (1) mill, $0.35 per thousand dollars of state taxable valuation, for a period of ten (10) years (2016-2025) inclusive? If approved and levied in full, this millage will raise an estimated $2,389,430 in the first calendar year of the levy, based on the state taxable valuation.
