South West Florida Horse Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization. Founded in 2010. Owned/operated by Tina Garrett and Matt Venaleck.

South West Florida Horse Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to saving the lives of our local horses from abuse, neglect, and slaughter by providing the best vet/farrier/feed to bring these horses back to health in a safe and positive environment. With community in mind, we strive to gain an excellent standing with all we come in contact with. Finding "forever homes" for these horses is our priority.

Located just 0.3 of a mile north of the Lee and Charlotte county line SWFHR originally founded in North Fort Myers, FL in 2010 has operated in Punta Gorda, FL since 2014.

Originally created to do their part, in their local community. A small private horse rescue was started by Tina & Matt because they had the room on their personal property to aid horses in need locally.

Rescuing 2 two at time, which was the intention, didn't last long as the need locally was extensive. As time went on and a multitude of horses were aided and assisted, time would eventually grow the name South West Florida Horse Rescue for this growing small private horse rescue.

By 2013 the newly incorporated organization South West Florida Horse Rescue, Inc. was facing a relocation to come. Made possible by a discrete foundation that had been following the operation since early 2012.
