Something to be Thankful for! This cutie is Dottie. She's a petite 1.5 year old lab/heeler mix who has a lot to be grateful for. She was dumped on a property with her sisters and spent months outside. She is now grateful for regular meals, a warm bed to sleep in and the kindness of strangers. As the result of her difficult past, Dottie is heartworm positive. She is receiving the lifesaving treatment she needs through PAWS. Dottie is a slightly timid girl who is really gentle and sweet. She is nervous about the busy environment she finds herself in and likely doesn't have experience with leash walking. She is uncertain with novel dogs which may also be a residue of her past dealing with other stray dogs. Dottie would probably do best in a household with a little patience willing to take things a little slowly and build her confidence. She would do well as a solo dog, but may consider a home with another calm dog or other animal. She needs to keep things quiet during her heartworm treatment. She is a gentle and loving girl who will make a lucky family a fine companion dog. She is available for foster to adopt while she undergoes her heartworm treatment.
