Society for Human Resource Management - Old Dominion University Chapter

Welcome to ODU's student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. Our mission: Help students at ODU learn about HR careers and opportunities.

The Society for Human Resource Management's student program was created in 1965 to promote mutually beneficial interaction between HRM students and practitioners.Representing more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries, the Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession.Membership offers students the opportunity to supplement their classroom education with real-world knowledge and hands-on experience.

Since the first chapter was chartered in 1965, the student program has continued to grow. The program now includes over 450 affiliated student chapters and more than 15,000 student members.

ODU's SHRM chapter provides students with an excellent opportunity to learn about careers in Human Resource Management and network with local professionals. Though it is the only Management club on campus, it is open to students in any major.

The club usually meets two times a month during Activity Hour...check here for upcoming events or join our OrgSync page for email reminders.
