Take Me Home Pet Rescue

Take Me Home Pet Rescue (TMHPR), located in Richardson, TX, is a 100% non-profit organization committed to reducing our homeless pet overpopulation.

Take Me Home Pet Rescue (TMHPR) is a 100% nonprofit organization committed to reducing the homeless pet population by removing dogs and cats from shelters and other unfortunate situations and having them spayed, neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before being adopted to their forever families. TMHPR adopts locally to the Dallas area.

Take Me Home Pet Rescue was founded in 2008 to meet the growing needs of the homeless pet population. City shelters were becoming more and more crowded and there was a strong need for a no-kill, foster-based rescue in Richardson, Texas. With the addition of the Adoption Center in 2012, Take Me Home has saved over 3,300 animals with a budget of just $325,000 per year.

In 2013 alone, the No More Homeless Pets Coalition (Dallas Animal Services and the SPCA of North Texas) took in over 34,000 dogs and cats. Rescues like Take Me Home, with your support, are able to take animals from overcrowded shelters and provide them with the appropriate medical care and a loving foster home where they can learn to enjoy life again.

Take Me Home founder Elise Bissell has set a goal of expanding our current facilities as well as someday opening a low cost spay and neuter clinic to serve the north Dallas area. With your help, the proceeds of this gala will allow Take Me Home Pet Rescue to continue to make a difference in the homeless pet community through owner education and foster-based rescue.
