We’re starting to feel the Christmas spirit here at Animal Friends! While it’s our hope that all of our adoptable dogs and cats will find their very own forever home for the holidays, until then we’re going to do our part to include them in the holiday cheer here at the shelter! All of our dogs have stockings up and our cats have ornaments with their names on it to go home with them when they get adopted!
Not able to adopt but still want to help spoil our animals for the holidays? Consider dropping off a Christmas gift just for them! Toys and treats can be directly placed into our dog’s stockings and cat items will be collected and distributed to our feline friends!
We have a large supply of cat ornaments remaining, but are beginning to run low on dog stockings. In order to make sure that every dog who goes up for adoption during the month of December has their own Christmas stocking we would love your help in purchasing more! Here is the link to the ones we have been ordering: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07JZ6B2FF/?coliid=I301Q30OQ0W3YH&colid=2RM933XQ37OBM&psc=1&ref_=lv_vv_lig_dp_it! Thank you for your support!

Who remembers Meadow? This spunky little kitten came to the shelter at the beginning of the month with a severely injured back leg! We posted about her needing a leg amputation and ask for any supporters to help fund her medical care. Well you all delivered and we wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us. Meadow is back and recovering from HIS leg surgery! Yes that right Meadow is actually a boy! There are already a few people interested in adopting Meadow so we will be reaching out to get him in his forever home! Meadow can’t wait! Posted below are before and after pictures so everyone can see the amazing transformation!

The mini-fridge in our stray dog location has stopped working and we are in search of a new one! Having a mini fridge back in the kennels allows us to keep wet food and food items that can be useful in getting the dogs to take their medications! We have included a link for an example of what size of mini fridge we are looking for, but we will gladly take one second hand as long as it still works!

Thank you so much to Pet Supplies Plus – Hamilton OH and Chipotle South Hamilton for providing our staff with lunch last Saturday to celebrate the end of National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week! This delicious thank you certainly brightened our staff’s day!
We also wanted to give a shout out to our staff and volunteers for all of their hard work over the past several months! We continue to see high numbers of dog and cat intakes within our facility and our staff and volunteers have stepped up to lend helping hands to one another to make sure these animals still receive proper care! If you are interested in becoming part of the lifesaving work happening at Animal Friends check out how to become a volunteer (https://www.animalfriendshs.org/ways-to-help/volunteer/) and our current employment opportunities (https://www.animalfriendshs.org/about-us/employment-opportunities/)!
RAFFLE TIME! This is one you don't want to miss out on! Enter for your chance to win this signed canvas print of Roselle - the guide dog who led her handler and many others out of Tower One and to safety before the building collapsed during the terrorist attack on 9/11.
This piece is an artist's proof, number 2 of 5. The #1 piece was given to Roselle's person, Micheal Hingson. It is handsigned by artist Ron Burns and pawtographed by Roselle. There were only a total of 30 limited edition pieces, which all sold out in less than one day, and the original piece hangs in the 911 Museum in New York.
Twenty years later, Roselle's legacy of saving lives continues. With your help, a piece of art can have the power to change an animal's life forever. 100% of the raffle proceeds benefit Animal Friends Humane Society, and allow us to continue in our mission of protecting lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals.
Tickets are 1 for $20 or 3 for $50. Winner will be drawn Monday, November 22nd. You can purchase your tickets here https://secure.givelively.org/event/animal-friends-humane-society/roselle-ron-burns-signed-canvas-raffle?fbclid=IwAR1eobvsugQ5PK5amZRUQT43H_vufXd5IMxld4mTA5YXN7blQaKqm40aZDw
