Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals
The MSSPA is caring for about 50 horses who have been rescued from abuse and neglect.
The mission of the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals is to provide refuge, rehabilitation, and placement of seized equines; support the placement of surrendered horses, and educate the public.
The vision is the elimination of equine abuse and neglect.
The Society houses horses (and a few other species!) who have suffered from abuse or neglect and been seized by Maine law enforcement agents. They are rehabilitated and evaluated for placement in forever homes. Please visit our Facebook page often to view horses that are available for adoption!
The MSSPA staff provides humane education at the request of interested clubs, groups, or classes. Please contact us at 207-892-3040.
