Carroll County Humane Society

CCHS is a no-kill animal shelter in McKenzie, TN with no-kill defined as not euthanizing for time or space. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

We care for approximately 250 animals at one time in a building we've purchased and in foster homes. Our goal is to utilize Adoption and Spay/Neuter as our community's animal population control - not euthanasia. We hope to insure that all companion animals have a warm, safe, loving home and to assist and educate the public about proper pet care. We also give shelter to abused animals while assisting law enforcement to prosecute their abusers.

The Carroll County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter in McKenzie, Tennessee with no-kill being defined as not euthanizing for time or space. This means no animal is euthanized because they have been at the shelter too long or to make room for another animal waiting to come in. If there is a need to euthanize, it is on a case by case basis relating to health and temper. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with funding coming entirely from private contributions, bequeaths, fundraising and grants.
