Humane Society of Dominica

Humane values for a better society.

To educate the public about the humane care and treatment of all creatures, great and small and to advocate animal welfare, environmental consciousness and sustainability in order to further the bond between people, animals and our earth.

1.We chose our name "Humane Society of Dominica" because it reflects the basic philosophy of what we believe in: Humane values for a better society.
2.We do not operate a shelter.
3.Our main mission is to promote Humane Values through our humane education program which travels to schools and communities throughout the island.
4.We act as liaison between those who wish to adopt a pet and those who need to find good homes for them by posting information on available animals, interviewing potential adopters and following up on our mandatory spay/neuter policy.
1.We pay for the mandatory spay/neuter surgery of those animals who are adopted through us.
2.We are a very (very: 3 people!) small organization.
3.We are a non-profit organization.
4.We fund our work through donations from international organizations, personal and corporate donors as well as through occasional fund-raising activities.

Thank you for your interest in our organization!
