East Tennessee Give A Heart Rat Rescue was started in April of 2012. We opened our doors to help find rats and other small caged animals great homes.

To rescue domesticated rats by working cooperatively with individuals, shelters, veterinarians, and other animal rescue organizations.

To provide vet care to injured, ill, or elderly rats; to assess each rat's health and temperament to the best of our ability.

To adopt out rats into loving, permanent homes, facilitating successful adoptions by providing information, advice, and follow-up.

To educate the public regarding rat care, health, behavior and the benefits of adopting homeless animals.

East Tennessee Give A Heart Rat Rescue Open its doors in 2012. Our goal is to save as many as we can and place them in to loving homes. We are a small in home rescue that takes in small caged animals. We have place hundreds of rats and other small animals into loving homes. We educate the public on rats and show that they make amazing pets. We work with the local animal shelters and other rescues too. We make sure that the rats are healthy and vet approved before adoptions!! And we have an amazing support network!
