A government funded animal shelter for the housing of unwanted, neglected and abused domesticated animals that can be adopted in the future.

Gilmer County Animal Shelter is a county operated facility. We house unwanted, neglected and abused animals that are domesticated and can also be put up for adoption. Due to limited resources and space, we are unfortunately a a high kill facility.
Gilmer County Animal Control also operates directly through the shelter. All Animal Control issues pertaining to domesticated animals only can be directed through the Animal Shelter.
