Mission Statement
The SPCA of Jefferson County is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding permanent and loving homes for homeless pets, providing them with a healthy environment, and promoting the humane treatment of animals and responsible pet ownership through education and community awareness.


The SPCA of Jefferson County is not affiliated with the ASPCA, and receives no funding from their organization. Many people are under the impression that the SPCA is funded by Jefferson County because the name of the county is included in our name. The name references the area we serve, not who we receive our funding from. We do not receive financial backing from the county or from any other government agency. The shelter is funded and supported solely by the generosity of the community through memberships, donations, memorials, bequests, participation in our fund raising events, and through the dedication of our volunteers.
