Charlyne's Pound Puppies

All our dogs and cats must be spayed or neutered. We provide these animals with love, medical care, and foster homes until we can find them adoptive families.

Please help! There is a pet over-population crisis in this country. Every day thousands of healthy, adoptable pets are needlessly killed.
Charlyne's Pound Puppies is a non-profit rescue group run by volunteers. Our founder, Charlyne McDaniel, began her crusade to help abandoned dogs and cats in 1995. Charlyne's Pound Puppies does not accept owner surrenders. Our commitment is to the animals in the Thorndale pound and those who may have been abandoned at vet clinics or the surrounding countryside.

Families who want to adopt an animal from Charlyne's Pound Puppies are asked to fill out a 2-page application http://poundpups.org/ppapplication.pdf to tell us a little more about themselves. They will then be interviewed by two of our volunteers. This is to make sure that the animal is going to a good home, and that he or she is a good fit for the adoptive family.

The adoption fee is $100.00 for dogs and for cats which includes a coupon for spaying/neutering if the animal is not old enough to have been spayed/neutered already. (These prices are subject to change without notice)

You also fill out a questionnaire from PETsMART and will receive many coupons towards merchandise and training.

Hopper was blessed yesterday with a forever family. We’re going to miss this sweet pup. Hopper came to us on New Year’s Day after being hit by a car on a rural highway. Our friends at the Dime Box Animal Clinic did an amazing job repairing his injuries and keeping him safe until he could come home with us. When Hopper was 6wks old he was hit by a car. He’s now 6 months old and totally recovered.
He does have a bit of a limp/hop when he runs, but it doesn’t slow him down. Overall, he’s a healthy, active and very happy puppy with big expressive eyes whose ready now for his forever home.
Hopper is neutered, HW negative and up to date on vaccinations. He’s also house/crate trained, very playful and loves other dogs and cats. His ideal home will include a playmate.
