Outta Bounds Hounds Rescue Transport

Outta Bounds Hounds Rescue Transport

Out of Bounds Hounds Transport Services was established to bring together animal shelters that are hard to transport from to rescues willing to help.

Outta Bounds Hounds Rescue Transport

Who we are and what we do...
Outta Bounds Hounds is a small operation with two partners, both are licensed Animal Control Officers. We have over 25 years of combined experience in rescue.

OBH was created because we ourselves have tried to rescue pets that were simply out of reach We would like to bridge the gap between shelters that have little to no exposure, to northeast rescues who can help save these precious lives. We find that the lack of transport in certain areas is what creates the lack of ability to help these shelters.

Transports will be once a month. We leave for Texas on Sat. Arrive Monday, board animals and start our return trip. All pets will be delivered by Thursday. After completing pickups we return back to rescuing in our hometown of Toms River.

Ticket to Ride
Every pet must have a ticket to ride. We accept reservations on our facebook page: www.facebook.com/pages/Outta-Bounds-Hounds-Rescue-Transport and click on the Boarding Pass Request or you can email us at OuttaBoundsHound@aol.com Please note large crates are very limited, and the first to be reserved. Extra charges may apply to large or extra large crates or pets. A $50 deposit is due at time of booking.

All dogs must have a collar and leash and all cats must be brought to us and picked up with a carrier. All required paperwork (see below) must accompany the pet.

The transport is set up with air-conditioning and heat. Each pet is crated separately in a size appropriate crate. This is the reason that we need an accurate weight and breed description.

After each transport, the crates are removed from the trailer and stacked for cleaning. The trailer is stripped and rinsed with a bleach solution. While the trailer is drying, the crates are then washed, rinsed with a sanitizing solution and stacked on end for drying. Kennels, water bowls and food pans are cleaned and sanitized after each completed transport.

Transport Requirements

All dogs MUST be quarantined away from a shelter/pound/animal control facility for at least 7 days and all puppies require 14 day quarantine in a foster home/quarantine facility/vet’s office/kennel.
All animals must have received age appropriate vaccinations. This includes but is not limited to Rabies, DAPPV (or similar combination) and BORDETELLA. When possible please use the injectable Bordetella instead of the intranasal.
Puppies must have completed at least 1 complete sets of puppy vaccinations and Bordatella. Puppies under 8 weeks of age will not be transported until they have reached the minimum age requirement and completed 2 complete sets of vaccinations.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires that all animals being transported MUST have an Interstate Health Certificate issued from a veterinarian licensed by the state from where your pet is boarding the transport. The Health Certificate MUST be issued within 10 days of the date your dog is being delivered (not picked up).
In addition to the Health Certificate, medical records are required. You may also include X-rays or required meds.
Spay must have been completed 5 days prior to going on transport. Neuter must have been completed 3 days prior to going on transport.
Please do not feed the animal within 4 hours prior to transport. Feeding after that will often account for an uncomfortable ride. We will be feeding and giving water throughout the trip.
Please make sure all pets have been walked and exercised before boarding.
All pets must be checked and treated for fleas and ticks. If fleas and ticks are present prior to transport, they will be refused to board.
Pregnant dogs will be transported but required documentation from a licensed veterinarian stating approximate due date is not within 2 weeks of transport date.
Each passenger must have a collar identifying the animal by name. This can be a metal tag, indelible marking on collar or paper tag covered with CLEAR shipping tape.
Dogs that have been diagnosed with a contagious condition such as kennel cough, intestinal parasites such as coccida, giardia or hookworm, sarcoptic mange (scabies), etc. will not be transported unless the pet has been treated and a vet states that the animal is not contagious.
If any emergencies arrive during transport with your pet, it is at our discretion that the pet be vetted. If this is necessary, it will be at your cost and you will have to make arrangements for transport after vetting.
Every effort is made to provide a safe and clean transport environment: however, coming in contact with other rescue/shelter pets may expose your pet to other illnesses and disease. OBHRT is not liable for illness that may have resulted from transport.
OBH has the right to refuse any animal that we feel is sick, injured, aggressive or if any of the above requirements are not met.
